Grading Results.

(17/12/07) The December Kyu Grading was held at the Parkland Primary School in the presence of another instructor, Peter Jones, 3rd Dan from Morriston. 49 students attended the event. Yoshitaka Shotokan Karate Club enjoyed another very successful grading with all students progressing to their next grades. Yoshitaka also has 5 more karate-ka being promoted to brown belt. So at the moment Yoshitaka had 2 black belts and 23 brown belts. Congratulations to all and keep training hard towards the next grading. Dates will follow as soon as possible.

Lots of News!!

No training

There will be no training on Wednesday 12th December, there will a kata class on Friday 14th December, please note it will be held same time (5.30-6.30pm) at St. Benedict's Church Hall. The last training session will be the Wednesday after the grading. Yoshitaka will break for Christmas from Wednesday 19th December, 2007 to Wednesday 9th January, 2008. Have a wonderful Christmas break and a Happy New Year! 

Grading Date

The Yoshitaka Grading Date has been announced as: Monday 17th December, 2008. Venue: Parklands Primary School. The junior grading is 5-6.30pm adult grading 6.30-8pm. Please arrive promptly. If you would like details of the syllabus please see the Grading Info Page.

Please see the 2008 training times page for slight changes in training times and locations from Wednesday 9th January, 2008.

Training as usual!

(02/11/07) Training as usual, starting Monday 6th November, 2007. (See training times)

 

Half term training.

(20/10/07) During the half term, Parkland School will be closed as usual, so Karate classes will be organised as follows:

Monday 29/10/07 at Sketty Primary School at 18.00

Wednesday 31/10/07 at Sketty Primary School at 18.00

Friday 02/11/07 at St. Benedict Church Hall at 17.30

 

All the above classes will be one hour long.

WKA Competition Report.

(14/10/07) Two Yoshitaka club members came away from the WKA Open Competition, not only with more competition experience but also three 3rd Place trophies! Ladies Kata, Men's Kata and Men's heavyweight kumite!

 

Training resumes!

(31/07/07) Yoshitaka starts training again on Monday 10th September. All welcome, see training times page for locations and times! We hope you have all had a great summer holiday and are refreshed ready to start training!

 

No training until September.

(27/07/07) Please note that due to unfortunate circumstances there is currently no training at Yoshitaka, Sensei Patrizio has had to return to Italy. However training will resume in September. Please email if you have any questions.

 

Tora Shin Karate Competition.

(01/07/07) Sunday saw some of the Yoshitaka Club Juniors competing at the Tora Shin Karate competition. All Yoshitaka competitors performed to a very high standard and great competition experience was had, however special mention goes to Sion who got a bronze in the kata event. Well done to all. If you would like to enter the next competition please ask Sensei Patrizio.

 

No training at Tycoch

(22/06/07) No training this Saturday (30th June) as the Tycoch College Sports Centre is closed for maintenance, training will resume at Tycoch the following Saturday, in the meantime feel free to attend Monday or Wednesday sessions over at Parklands Primary School, Sketty.

 

Kyu Grading Success!!

(06/06/07) At the recent Yoshitaka Grading held on Wednesday 6th June, 2007, everyone did very well and the standard of karate was very high. Yoshitaka Karate Club had a 100% pass rate! Many congratulations to all.
